><B>Ephesians 2:4-7</B></FONT>     But God - so rich is He in His mercy!  Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, <FONT SIZE="1" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Bookman Old Style" >5</FONT>Even when we were dead (slain) by {our own} shortcomings and trespasses.  He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; {He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for}it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation).  <FONT SIZE="1" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Bookman Old Style" >6</FONT>And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together {giving us joint seating clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in{His} kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.</div> <bR> <bR> <div> What is a covenant?  </div> <div> The binding together of two parties for life and death.  The terms and conditions of the covenant would be kept even if it killed you to keep them.  There is no exit here, not like our western promises or contracts - not something you could just quit.</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <B>Proverbs 18:24</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Bookman Old Style" >  The man of  many friends {a friend of all the world} will prove himself a bad friend, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.</FONT></div> <bR> <bR> <div> The covenant between the human race and God the Father was settled before you were ever born.  You were in Jesus - Your Representative.  Guaranteed by the blood of Jesus and faithfulness of Father.  From a distance, Father has loved you and accepted you.  He doesn't want to be at a distance - accept the covenant, accept Jesus as Lord of your life and the covenant becomes active in your demanded a king like other nations.  God called it evil and let them have their desire, but it was leanness to their soul              =   Trouble             This happens today!</div> <bR> <div> Soon King Saul joined the people and gives his vote of no to God.  He said, I will do it my way     =    Iniquity.</div> <bR> <div> Jonathan - He is a man that reaches out to God.  He had a good heart, not like his father.  He is <I><U>in</U></I> the family but not <I><U>of</U></I> the family.  Jonathan's life message - you can be a transition generation.  </div> <bR> <div> David - He is a man of God's favor.  He waited on the Lord and trusted God's timing!  David never once tried to take the throne by force.             * Don't create an Israel.</div> <bR> <div> In the providence of God, David meets Jonathan.  They recognize a common heart and goal in life.  They share a deep desire for God.  There is a bond between them and they recognize that it is to be sealed with a covenant.  David is the representative of his unborn family.  In David was his family.  His future family is there in his loins.  In Jonathan is his unborn children.  They enter into a blood covenant.</div> <bR> <div>
