 Introducing the NBF Podcast!
So, just what is a Podcast anyway? -- A Podcast is any form of audio or video that can be set up to automatically download to your computer running appropriate software and then be placed on a portable listening device such as a MP3 player. You subscribe to a Podcast feed and when a new episode is published on the Internet and you start your Feed Reader of choice, that episode is automatically downloaded to your computer to listen to directly or for transfer to whatever portable listening device you use. Most podcasts are FREE, (especially ours), so now is a good time to get started.
How do I subscribe? -- Clicking on the following link will take your web browser directly to the NBF Feed page. http://nbfirving.net/podcasts/nbffeed.xml There will be a link near the top of the page that allows you to "Subscribe" to this feed. IE7 has a handy feed management pane that lets you see what subscriptions are available and what feeds are available on those subscriptions. Sometimes it may be necessary to hit F5 on your keyboard to allow the feed to refresh itself in the browser. Items with a small green arrow next to them are new since the last time you visited the page and when clicked will download into IE.
Alternatively you can go to PodcastAlley.com and search their podcast database for the keyword "new beginnings" and you will see a link for Sundays at New Beginnings. Following that link to our Podcast page, click the Listen link and a browser based player will load and the most current item will automatically play. While this method does not save any files permanently to your computer, it is an easy and quick way to hear current messages. You can click on previous items to hear them also.
Another site, http://www.pod-planet.com has button links that let you listen to individual past messages or subscribe to the feed via your favorite aggregator application. You will have to register to be able to use this service but it is free and should be relatively private.
If you are running iTunes, you can either do a search of the Podcast database in the iTunes Store or via the player's Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast menu item and manually drop in the http://nbfirving.net/podcasts/nbffeed.xml link and iTunes will immediately begin downloading content to your computer. ITunes only supports iPod players so if you have another brand of music player and want to download to that player, you will need to run other feed aggregators as mentioned above.
If you have any questions or problems accessing the NBF Podcasts, please contact Tom Schuessler via e-mail or phone and he will be happy to assist you in any way possible.
