John 19:3O (Amplified) When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
This journey is not about getting God to do something for you. This journey is about understanding what He has already done.
It is finished - He has completed the Covenant and delivered us from our sins. He has delivered us from the power of sin.
We don't live toward victory - We live from victory!
You are a child of God, bought with the Blood of Jesus. You have authority in Christ over Satan and all his evil works. You're the head, not the tail; the above and not the beneath. You have birthrights as a joint heir blood brother with Christ.
You have a right to walk in the blessings and favor of God. We are each blessed with all spiritual blessings. People will spend a lifetime trying to work to attain a position with Christ that they already have. It is like trying to sit in a chair you are already sitting in.
It is dangerous to the kingdom of darkness for a believer to believe who he is in Christ and receive what he has in Christ! The enemy will use strategy to get you to circle the mountain over and over to try and earn what you already have or to condemn you to the place you are convinced you don't deserve to be and you settle for doubt, speculation and unbelief as a way of life!
When you believe you enter a rest. The Kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness, peace, and joy of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17 King James). The Holy Spirit is here to work out in our soul what Jesus has done in our spirit so that the world will see and be drawn to Him and recognize Him and we will bring Him glory.
We need to practice receiving the Word to transform and renew our mind. That the final score is on the board. It is finished. The enemy cannot hold you in bondage - it is illegal because I am dead to sin.
How come I still do this and this if I am dead to sin? There is a difference between who you are and what you do. Your position in Christ will affect your actions; but your life will not affect your position in Christ.
There is a difference between your who and your do! This is normal, it is a process.
Part 2, March 18, 2007
He loves you unconditionally. You cannot buy His love with good works; you cannot earn it or deserve it. I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ because I put my faith in Jesus.
I can do what is right because His righteousness is in me! I want to think right; I want to have the right attitude; I want to speak right and treat people right.
The gift of righteousness you did not earn so you can't unearn it. I did not earn God's favor so I can't unearn it. By Grace you are saved through faith not of works - less any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
When people get to know God and realize His heart for them and recognize what He has done - they will be so grateful. The bible says the love of God constrains us and controls us. The more you love God, the more you will obey Him. His love in you and your love for Him will control your actions.
Trying to get God to love us is like trying to sit in a chair you've already been given; trying to earn something you already have. Get to know God better.
The more I see Him, the more I love Him - I want to please Him.
Quit trying to prove yourself to Him and get to know Him and fall in love with Him more and more and your life will be an expression of Him in everything you do.
Romans 7:15-17 (Amplified) For I do not understand my own actions [I am baffled, bewildered]. I do not practice or accomplish what I wish, but I do the very thing that I loathe [which my moral instinct condemns]. 16Now if I do [habitually] what is contrary to my desire, [that means that] I acknowledge and agree that the Law is good (morally excellent) and that I take sides with it. 17However, it is no longer I who do the deed, but the sin [principle] which is at home in me and has possession of me.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God's grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow? 2Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? 3Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life.
We live - already in Christ. Colossians 1:28 says, We are complete in Christ. You have value; it's who you are in Christ. It is not about your getting - You are in Christ. You are a prince or a princess in the Kingdom. You are the righteousness of God in Christ.
Remembering, meditating, or reflecting on who you are in Christ will greatly affect your attitudes and actions.
Romans 6:6-11 We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. 7For when a man dies, he is freed (loosed, delivered) from [the power of] sin [among men]. 8Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9Because we know that Christ (the Anointed One), being once raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him. 10For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. 11Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.
The victory is not in ever having anyone bother you; the victorious life is - In the midst of all these things, we are more than conquerors through Christ. The victory comes when someone insults me. I can be nice when I don't feel good. I can bless people when I don't feel blessed. I can bless my enemies and pray for them because God gives me the power to do it.
It is a thought process - it's how you look at yourself. I will begin to think of myself in a new way. Your way. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I've been set free from sin. I'm alive to God. I've got unbroken fellowship with Him. My spirit is fellowshipping with the Spirit of God. I'm alive inside. My outer man perishes but my inner man is being renewed day by day.
We are sealed in the Holy Ghost. I'm dead to sin but alive to righteousness. Sin no longer has any authority over me. I'm a new creature in Christ. When Christ died, I died. When He was raised, I was raised.
