Part 1 notes
God is a consuming fire. He will transform you into His image and goose bumps are not always involved.
He burns up in your life what is not consistent with His Nature. What's left, He touches with His Glory to be used of Him.
Malachi 3:1-3 (Amplified) Behold, I send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me. And the Lord [the Messiah], Whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; the Messenger or Angel of the covenant, Whom you desire, behold, He shall come, says the Lord of hosts. 2But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap; 3He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the priests, the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord offerings in righteousness.
Mark 12:30-31 And you shall love the Lord your God out of and with your whole heart and out of and with all your soul (your life) and out of and with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of and with all your strength. [This is the first and principal commandment. 31The second is like it and is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
2 Corinthians 4:11-12 For we who live are constantly [experiencing] being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the [Resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death.
Part 2 notes
2 Corinthians 4:ll-12(Amplified) For we who live are constantly [experiencing] being handed over to death for Jesus' sake, that the [Resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death.
Jesus died so that His life can come through you and affect other people's lives so that they can live!
Colossians 3:1-2 If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
Colossians 3:3-5 For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory. 5So kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: Sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God).
Ephesians 5:18-20 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit. 19Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord, 20At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
Proverbs 16:9 A man's mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.
